One often hears and reads about the third, fourth and fifth dimensions through writings and teachings about the mass spiritual awakening that is taking place on our planet. I’ve done my best here to collate some information about what is meant by these terms and explain
what are the differences between 3D, 4D and 5D?
My Be All You Are ascension service contains a lot of information that I have collated, added to, edited and adapted, as well as my own offerings. I have chosen to apply my academic and editing skills to that aspect of my work, making sure that what I put together and choose to present is of the very highest quality, accuracy and magical potency. When reading this kind of material, one should try to apply the understanding that traditional dogma is often supplanted by alternative theories and knowledge, which themselves can then become rather dogmatic in their presentation. Indeed many alternative practitioners become very identified with particular theories and knowledge, which may lead to a kind of closing down. When approaching information which is being presented as a form of universal knowledge, we learn to use our powers of discernment, we learn to trust our intuition, and we accept that some presentations of knowledge may be, as yet, incomplete.
Especially nowadays when we all have access to such a wealth of information, those going through this process will most likely come across a lot of different content, opinion and perspective. We must develop key skills in feeling our way into this information before integrating it.
When going through our own unique version of the process of spiritual awakening, sooner or later we are confronted with the fact that there seem to be more dimensions than the one reality we perceive, the one reality that we are living in and that we know so well.
We start questioning our life, our motivations, our ideas of fulfilment, our contexts and what most often happens is that what used to be true for us all of a sudden starts unravelling. We are no longer sure of this reality we had been existing in, and many things begin to feel artificially constructed, not so real after all.
Much like how crisis functions as a strong evolutionary driver, this unravelling can perhaps best be seen as the higher dimensional energies calling us. More and more, we begin to resonate with these higher dimensional energies.
We make the commitment to find out more about who and what we truly are.
One learns about universal energies and different frequencies. One may explore various different modalities, which all seem to be pointing in the same direction. We may encounter the term ‘ascension’ and begin to uncover what this concept truly means. At least begin to uncover some part of what this truly means.

There are so many aspects to ascension, but for the purposes of this page, one could define it as an energetic shift from 3D to 5D.
​
This shift is achieved by raising our frequencies to a much higher level and transmuting low frequencies, such as those of fear, into higher frequencies, such as those of unconditional, radiant love, up to a point where no fear is left. This shift could be momentary or take place progressively over time.
While 3D and 4D are easy to travel between, once we have developed our 5D state of consciousness, it is neither easy nor desirable to return to 3D.

A question that seems to keep many of us quite busy, and a question I am often asked, is how can we differentiate between the dimensions.
Sometimes I hear that these dimensions are not actual places but rather they are states of consciousness. This perspective describes how we are all living life in 3D, 4D or 5D or as a combination of all three. The majority of people are, therefore, moving back and forth across two or three of these dimensional states of consciousness, depending on where they are in their lives, and what frequency they are emitting. Non-dualistically speaking, this is both true and not true at the same time. Yes, these are vibrational planes of existence. Yes, we can move back across these planes. But, an individual who is going through gradual transformation to lightbody, an individual who is taking certain types of plant medicine, or someone who is able to access sufficiently high meditative states, will experience these higher dimensions as PHYSICAL PLACES. This concept may be a little difficult to grasp for someone who has not experienced such things. LUCID DREAMING will give some insight and experience of how this actually FEELS.
So...
To better understand the different dimensions and how they feel, let’s take a look at them individually.

Remember - whatever you read, see, and hear about the 3D world - this is where so many of us have woken up from. This is a place of seeding. Even as we exit duality, we learn to love the dualistic world, and see the beauty in all realms.
The Third Dimension – The Material World
“Because we are living in a material world and I am a material girl…”

Madonna describes the third dimension pretty perfectly in her song. She describes how she will only go out with guys that have money to buy her things and how she fears losing her money having got into that state of defining herself through possessions. The third dimension is all about material, all about accumulating material and living in fear of losing it again. We fear to lose control. We fear to not be secure and to not be good enough. We don’t trust people, partly because they could take our wealth away from us. So we try to gain power over others in so many different ways in order to be in a stronger position - to be somehow safer. We define ourselves on this plane by what we possess and what we do for a living.
All my life I have hated being asked the question: “So, what do you do?”
We believe ourselves to be separated from god, or from the gods, from everyone and everything. As long as we are not one with source, we cannot experience oneness with all that is. We believe that death is something painful, dark and finite. We believe that we live one life and that is it - and for sure we cannot engage with life as a symbolic journey, where self-expression and self-evolution are the most important things. We believe this world to be a place of scarcity. Therefore, we think we must fight and fight hard for our well-being because there is not enough for everyone. We think that life is supposed to be a competition with winners and losers. We think it is okay to lie, because everyone does it in this game. We are convinced that we have to be right about things - we spend a lot of time and energy attaching a whole ego based identity to being right about something or other. We may believe in certain roles for men and women, we may feel very confused about how to integrate the masculine and feminine aspects within us. With regard to relationships, sex, and the concept of being in love and making love, we believe that we cannot be whole without another person. We believe we need someone else to make us happy and whole. We have not understood that we ourselves are love and light, that our heart is a self-generating radiator of pure love of quite extraordinary power. We are always looking to the external to fill the internal void. And we are backed up in our beliefs by the wealth of expressions, be they books or films or tv series or whatever, that seem to tell exactly the same story.
Some people will experience joy only on very rare occasions in the 3D, while others may find that there is actually a great deal of joy available while living from a 3D state. Perhaps when gazing at breathtaking beauty while exploring nature or during a sexual orgasm. Perhaps there is great joy to be experienced while building a business or even a house. There is a great deal of opportunity in the 3D to have these moments that take us more into the NOW. Those treading a more creative path in life, or those who have a real passion or passions that they can lose themselves in, however 'trivial' they might seem, will have had more experiences of being in the NOW like this - really the only place where the ego does not exist.
We are so used to the ego that we don’t question whether it is normal that we spend all of our time in the past or in the future. The ego plays the “should have could have would have - game” in the past or jumps into the future playing the “let’s create scenarios” - game to be prepared for any possibilities. So So we are often distracted from seeing that the only real place to be in is the NOW.
While it is possible to experience quite a lot of joy in the 3D, but pain and deeper emotions can be very challenging to deal with.
“Humans in the third dimension crave physical sex so much because that is the only opportunity for them to experience the merging of the masculine and feminine energies in perfect balance.”
That is the root cause for this desire. In the third dimension, we do not understand that this is where the neediness for a partner comes from, or perhaps the neediness to access porn and other such stimuli. We don’t understand that we can create this wholeness for ourselves. In fact, we not only can, but must move towards mastering the creation of wholeness for ourselves, in order to access the higher dimensions. There is no other way.
We cannot imagine that sexual desires can change from need to a sharing. In the third dimension, we have never learned to love ourselves. On the contrary, we were taught to believe that this is egoistic. The opposite is the case. Not loving yourself is egoistic thinking and is what keeps you from being whole and keeps the void within you alive. So many of my fellow travelers that I’ve been close to in this lifetime have simply not understood or integrated that. That SELF-LOVE is the key.
Many people doing many truly wonderful things upon our planet at this time, still find themselves seduced by the third dimension.
It is very easy to get trapped in the mindset that there are 2 levels of spiritual awakening - being 'asleep', and being 'awake'.
This is simply not true.
There are many many levels of spiritual awakening, each level taking us deeper into a very personal journey into divine union.
As each level is navigated and integrated, yet more levels unfold.
Energetically, the third dimension is a place of low vibration and enhances the illusion of separation, duality and free will. In 3D, only one timeline (reality) is available and we live with the construct and illusion of the ego-mind of linear time. Here there is little or no desire to go within or look at things from a deeper stand point.
Here, our higher, divine self is not integrated into the physical body because it cannot handle the density and the low frequency.
It is connected with us through our spiritual body, but when our chakras are blocked, it cannot actually get through to us. That causes the belief, or the continuation of the belief that we are separated from God, from Source, or whatever you want to call it/him/her/them.

In 3D, we actually think that our life is based on coincidences and that there is no destiny, as we are not aware of our true identity - a spiritual being in a physical body, suffering from amnesia. As we incarnate into the third dimension, we forget who we truly are and get equipped with an ego mind that is only serving us for this incarnation. It cannot remember any of our previous lives because it has not been there with us. Only our cellular structure and DNA carries memories from our family lineage, and our soul/higher divine self knows about our own experiences in past lives. As long as the ego mind is in the lead and our heart is closed, the connection to our soul is blocked most of the time. The communication with our higher self and the higher realms can only be felt, not understood with the rational mind. The ego mind is not able to process this amount of energy. As long as we are cut off, we cannot feel the truth, we believe our ego mind is supposed to be in the lead, supposed to be directing things as it is oh so clever. And yes, it is - in keeping us away from our true self and in keeping up the illusions.
Every time our intuition comes through and expresses our truth, the ego mind shouts out: “Prove it!” So we shut down again, as we are unable to prove what we feel. We continue to run around, to all intents and purposes blindfolded, trying to figure out how life works and what we are actually doing.
We believe we find the answers to our quest for happiness externally, outside of us. We adapt to the game and accept the 3D illusions as our reality, and feel some comfort in that because everyone does. We suppress the questions about our purpose, our true origin and our talents and gifts. We must be mistaken to have these questions, because everybody else is living according to the same rules. If we would speak out loud our doubts and our true desires, we would just be considered to be insane and an unrealistic, idealistic, or more likely, idle dreamer. So we just stick with the system, not realizing that we have been enslaved as our ego mind has been programmed with all kinds of false beliefs. We do not see that the whole system is a fake matrix based on fear. As long as people are in fear, you can keep them under control and make money with them. Lots of money. The different types of insurance, pharmaceuticals and fashion are just a couple of examples how a lot of money is made with our fears. And we need to make more and more money to be able to compensate for those fears. We think we have to improve our status. Again and again - to be good enough and earn respect. We don’t even realize how much the material world, and our possessions are controlling us and are keeping us in dependency. We need to protect what we have reached and make it even more to be prepared for worse times which we feel will undoubtedly come. In the third dimension, we are thinking negative thoughts, feeling negative feelings, indeed often dwelling in negative feelings, for some people almost permanently, and we are mistrusting everyone and everything.
“The illusion of duality in the third dimension allows us to experience light and darkness, good and bad, joy and despair, better and worse. We have the choice to act as saints or demons. That is actually the only choice we have: love or fear."
That is our choice: love or fear, light or darkness. That is what free will allows us. As long as we are choosing fear, we are repeating our experiences and patterns until we learn to choose love. It is said that all the beings we encounter on our path are either keeping us in the repetition of the same old tired story, or inviting us to new beginnings. I would say that is just about right. Sometimes it can be painful to realize that we’ve fallen for the same thing yet again! This is the Earth training program. We've been here before!
And that is the beauty of the third dimension. Once we learn to choose love permanently, we come to enlightenment as our frequency raises significantly. That way, we overcome our ego-mind’s limits. We learn to let our heart and soul take over the lead in transforming our ego into a free spirit. We learn how the universal energies work and how we can create our reality. We understand that we had the steering wheel in front of us all the time. We just did not see it. We learn that there are no victims or perpetrators. There is no US and THEM. There are only teachers that help us grow. We do not have to wait until we die to go into the light. We can do that while we are in a human body.
The Fourth Dimension – The Magical Dream World
The fourth dimension is most often described as the dream world. It is also often referred to as the Astral Plane. It is presented as a 'gateway' to the 5th. Most definitions of the 4D are somewhat incomplete. There are different levels of 4D which include those of the psyche.

It is a dimension that is less dense and much more fluid than the third dimension, like plasma, but still has only one timeline (reality). It also hosts the illusion of duality and the ego and thus fear is able to also exist here. Linear time becomes a lot more fluid here in the 4th dimension. Imagine it to be a stream of energy hosting all events of one particular timeline - the same timeline that is available in the third dimension.
We usually visit this plane naturally during the night. Here, in our dream states, anything is possible. A mouse can be transformed into a lion, we can fly or breathe underwater, we can be in many places at the same time and have conversations with the weirdest creatures in the most bizarre contexts.
We can travel into the past and into the future. Experienced astral travellers are able to access this plane during the day or whenever they want to. This can become so real that they are actually experiencing out of body adventures or intense sexual encounters.
This is the plane that shamans travel to, that many ancient civilizations would travel to, to find out more about the more profound aspects of existence and connect to the spiritual realms. These journeys give access to the underworld and the upper world. Particular kinds of drugs and special trance ceremonies would be used to get there.
Depending on the energetic vibration of people, traveling in the astral plane can be a very loving and exciting or a very scary and fearful experience.
Spiritual drugs will not generally take us above the fourth dimension. Indeed this is true of the various kinds of drugs that are used recreationally in our modern world. Nevertheless, traveling the astral plane can be very insightful to learn more about ourselves, about our purpose and also about our fears as we can get into a kind of closer exchange with our higher self here. No matter how far we travel in this dimension, we always stay in this particular timeline. On this plane it is also possible to tap into the collective consciousness and learn more from there. The astral realm is a place where light and darkness come into conflict easily. Dark magic has its place here, dream walkers, for example, can influence us on this plane easily when we are still full of fear and have not learned yet to set healthy energetic boundaries, i.e. when we are able to create our own light and sustain it so that it simply absorbs the darkness. Most people do not remember their astral experiences consciously, which makes it even harder to detect energetic manipulations.
“The fourth dimension connects darkness and light. On this plane, we can protect ourselves only by applying the energetic universal laws, as there are no human laws or regulations for control."
Something that has come up for me is that quite often, people of higher frequency are not actually experiencing the astral plane consciously at all. That is why they often feel alone or think they are imagining their awakening and ascension, because they don’t have all these crazy experiences other people get so excited about - they don’t have all the dramatic experiences that so many others are thirsting for. These people’s body frequency is already higher than the fourth dimensional frequency from birth onwards.
This will become more and more common as evolution is seriously speeding up. The younger generations are there for us to learn from and for us to set some kind of example to, for their capabilities and potentials will be far beyond what we know at this time.
That is very important.

Higher frequency people often experience an unexplainable fatigue during their whole 3D existence, because the difference between the dense 3D frequencies and the much lighter 5D frequencies causes a permanent friction and the body has a hard time to deal with it. They go through 3D programming just as everyone, although they often have a much stronger feeling of “this is not right what is happening here” and are questioning and sabotaging the system, as well as self-sabotaging, often.
Many of them, like myself, will spend many years quite literally ‘bouncing off the walls’.

A lot of higher frequency people spend time hooked on alcohol and drugs because they are not able to cope with the density well and they are denying their spiritual gifts and talents, which is quite understandable, all things considered. They just want to be normal and fit in at an earlier stage of their life. The problem: drugs and alcohol are of much lower frequency than their bodies, and can cause permanent anxieties and depression. And remember, most of the modern world is hooked on drugs. People who drink alcohol every day - not connected to source, people who drink a lot of coffee - slaves to the mind etc etc.
Certain people who may be thought of as naturally 'higher frequency' , may experience ascension in a much more subtle, heartfelt way.
Once their awakening is initiated and they open up to their spirituality, the process usually happens faster than average, and they cleanse the 3D programming quite quickly as their system wants to return to its natural frequency as quickly as possible, once initiated.
They are usually claircognizant - meaning that all of a sudden they know things without knowing why. That is because they have access to other timelines and dimensions. Usually that happens unconsciously. They simply lose a few minutes and feel cold and confused after such an experience. There is no hierarchy of whether you are a being of high frequency or not. The experiences are simply different.
Another way to approach this question of what is the 4th Dimension, is to think of people choosing to transition from the 3D state. This is non-duality in action. We can think of the 4D both as a kind of astral plane, and as a vibrational plane of existence, as a physical location and a state of being, a level of awareness, a point of perception. What is clear is that there are many levels of 4D, and how we experience it will change radically during our ascension and descension process.
Individuals begin to awaken to the idea that we are all connected, that there is more to life. Yes, duality is still experienced here, but there is more compassion and understanding under its surface. We open up to the realization that our thought, our feelings, our subconscious is very powerful. There is a great shift in the way we perceive reality.
At some point, we open up to the importance of diet, meditation, maintaining physical health. We experience how our actions affect others and the environment. We develop a strong desire to find purpose and follow passions. We begin to perceive the world through six senses, as our intuition expands.

We understand that life is meant to be enjoyed and that we are worthy of living a life of one's dreams.
We seek deeper meaning and start to see synchronicity and magic. Yes, a gateway really has opened.
And there is a great shift in the role of the 4D in our lives. This realm becomes restructured and there comes a point where, more and more, we are living our lives in the 4D, then integrating what we experience there into our 3D daily lives.
The Fifth Dimension – The Plane of Light
Of all the higher dimensions, the fifth dimension is the last one of pure light and unconditional radiant love, as source energy makes its way down, before entering the realms of limitations and duality. 5D is many things - angelic - etheric - and to exist in this realm permanently requires transformation to lightbody to occur for each individual.
This is a dimension beyond linear time, that means that many different timelines/realities are available to access. This is where ascension is taking us while we are here in human form.
So physical existence is still going on in this plane, although the body is lighter and of a different cellular structure - more silica based, less carbon based. This is what is happening in gradual transformation to lightbody. When the physical body is fully transformed into this structure, pain and fear are greatly reduced, even eradicated entirely. It is the plane of unconditional love and abundance, manifest in the physical. Our higher divine self has been fully integrated into our physical body and has taken over the guidance. We have a direct line to divine self. We become more like an avatar.
This feels very differently from just channelling the higher self. The first time your higher self moves into the physical body fully is quite overwhelming. It is an intense energetic flow of unconditional love and everything feels light and at ease. Before the higher self can be fully anchored into the physical body, the healing of all bodies (the mental, the emotional and the physical) has to be completed. Therefore, your higher self will slip in and out for a while until it can move in permanently. You will know when your higher self is integrated, when you do not question the universal flow and simply trust your journey. You do not feel the need to interfere or control that flow anymore. In the fifth dimension, all of our actions are based on love. It is the plane of oneness, where we feel the connection to everyone and everything around us, including the holy source energy.

What is difficult for people to understand is how physical all this is. By the time this coming into union takes place, an individual will have been through a kundalini awakening, and all manner of experiences of higher energies. Kundalini transformation then segues into gradual lightbody transformation and this is physically felt - this new body coming online.
In the fifth dimension, we live in unity consciousness, but still recognize ourselves as individuals. We understand ourselves as part of the whole yet as absolutely unique at the same time, perfectly imperfect. Unity consciousness is something often misinterpreted. It is all about achieving unity within, balancing seemingly opposing energies, harmonizing. We do not feel that we get information from guides, angels or star family through methods such as channelling anymore. Now it comes much more intuitively and subtly from within as we have become ONE with all that is, ONE with all we are. Snippets of conversation confirming something we are thinking about, whatever we focus on becoming more and more pronounced, prophetic dreams, drifting between worlds to receive guidance, being deprogrammed from old beliefs and behaviours, the symbolic language of dreams becoming the language of our lives, even the elementals showing us the way.
In the beginning it feels as if we were disconnected until we get used to this new way of being connected. On this plane, we remember who we truly are and are aware of our eternal soul. We become free of entanglement to lower denser realities. We become absolutely free of doubt, free of fear, even death has no fear for us anymore. Manifestation is easy and graceful - one creates through being sure, through knowing, through emotion - and the life of our dreams can become our reality.
In 5D everything comes without an effort as we have rediscovered that the universal energetic flow always guides us perfectly.
There are no limits.
We are limitless beings. We live in complete freedom and authenticity.
As there is no fear, there is a great reduction in aging and illness.
Indeed, we look younger and feel younger.
We shine our light, but have also learnt the value of camouflage when it is necessary.
We live as long as we want, until we decide to leave the body. This happens smoothly and when our work is done.
“Living in 5D means living from the heart. We connect through our hearts and can feel the connection and love instantly.”
In the fifth dimension, our sexual desires change as we have reached our internal balance between the masculine and feminine energies. We have become somewhat androgynous energetically. Sexual energies can be experienced without physical contact with others. They can be created by the individual. Therefore, sex does not happen out of neediness or lust anymore, but becomes a sharing between two whole people that resonate on the same energetic level.
It is normal for beings existing in 5D to come together with what so many are calling their “twin flames”, their pure divine counterparts.
Or it is experienced alone and is just as beautiful, for we are not attached, that is the key.
In addition, there is a third energy, the divine energy, that is part of this experience and sexuality becomes the holy trinity in perfect equilibrium.
It is the most powerful energy of creation. Therefore, it is not surprising, that sex in 3D was defined to be something shameful and sinful. To keep people from discovering their true creative power. And actually, "to sin" means "to not act from the heart", its meaning has just been mangled through translation and cultural appropriation.

“I always had trouble with locks and keys, for I knew how beautiful it was on the other side of the door”
Once someone has raised their own frequency up to a 5D level, the return to the lower dimensions is not possible anymore, unless the soul chooses it consciously, perhaps temporarily in order for a class to be delivered, or a training module covered again. This was the choice a lot of star seeds and angelic beings took to help humanity ascend. People in 5D are almost immune to low frequencies as there is no resonance. They do not attract any darkness (unless of course they choose to transmit it!) and they choose to live in the light exclusively. This is in contrast to the early stages of ascension when one may attract dark energies (energy vampires if you like) or even have dark entities feeding off us. Yes, we go through a stage, or even stages where we are vulnerable like that.
In 5D duality and linear time are dissolving and all there is left is a life in the NOW. A life lived in divine service, service that is joyful and juicy, and fits each being like a glove. Those ascending into 5D experience profoundly transformational passages of embodiment, unique experiences where one witnesses and feels oneself merging into the higher divine self, while simultaneously maintaining a life stream of a fading lower or smaller self (I’m not sure that I like that terminology but for now it’s all we’ve got)...truly brilliant.
All experiences are embraced with gratitude, as the soul knows that everything has its purpose for the growth and expansion of our consciousness. Contact with beings of higher (or rather 'other') dimensions, extra-terrestrials, star family and angelic beings becomes easy and is integrated in the daily experience. It becomes ‘normal’ shall I say. We receive information directly from spirit and abilities such as telepathy, teleportation and telekinesis become possible.
The fifth dimension is the dimension of deep trust and an inner knowing that everything is happening perfectly. A deep peace and serenity that goes far beyond the idea of happiness that is so cherished in 3D. On this plane, we have learned to go with the flow, or rather go with OUR flow, and let source work through us to create miracles -
WE BECOME PURE CONDUITS FOR SOURCE
There is no need to be right in 5D, as there is no ego. Our ego has transcended into a free spirit and is working hand in hand with body and soul. In the fifth dimension, we do not take anything personally anymore from people who have not reached that plane yet. Or at least we are palpably MOVING TOWARDS that state of being. We find ourselves thinking “forgive them for they know not what they do”. We understand that they are on their own journey. We have enormous compassion for that. We know about their own baggage and journey and do not judge them or blame them but love them unconditionally.
We know that there is no danger, so we know that there is no need for protection. At the same time we employ discernment, we don't leave ourselves totally open, we have learnt to move between worlds. But we also know that our light shines so bright, that it is capable of absorbing the darkness automatically.
In 5D we live according to the universal energetic laws, knowing that we create what we think, what we feel, what is held in our subconscious. There are no man made rules or laws, because people fully trust the energetic flow and where it takes and guides them to. There is no need for possessions other than those that are required as tools for the work. At the same time, the possessions we do have, the tools we use, are perfect for the job at hand, or perfect for us as individuals. And we can enjoy them immensely. There is no need to maintain status, as there is no competition and nothing to compare. Everything becomes a sharing. We just are. Some of our sharing requires us to spend significant amounts of time alone. Some creative expressions are best formulated far from the influence of others, after all.
We love ourselves and appreciate our individuality as part of the whole. We live from pure authenticity. Indeed we must. That which is not the highest path for us will fail. What exactly the 'highest path' is for us will change in any given moment, will be known by us, and will not necessarily be understood by others. These things do not need to be understood by others.
We know that our needs are always met and we are always taken care of. Sometimes 'being taken care of' involves somewhat hard, even harsh, classes - designed to better help us fulfil our work. But we know when this is happening. We have been trained very well.
Gratitude is always present.
When we live in 5D permanently we have reached a state of enlightenment.
No wonder that it is referred to as heaven on earth.

There is no claim that this is universal truth.
There is no claim that this is ultimate truth.
Truth, like life itself, is an ever changing thing.
And many truths can exist, indeed do exist, in the same moment.
Please feel encouraged to take only what resonates for you so that you may find your own truth, your own wisdom.
But do remember that it is useful to be challenged when making your way.
